A Victorian man has been charged with murder after a woman’s body was discovered following a house fire.
On Tuesday, Timothy Loosemore, 60, appeared briefly before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court where he was remanded into custody.
Mr Loosemore was charged by homicide squad detectives on Monday after a deceased woman, 60, was found in a Goldie home, about an hour north of Melbourne, on Saturday evening.
Emergency services were called to the Mt William Rd property following reports of a fire about 10.30pm.
Mr Loosemore, of Goldie, was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries and released on Monday.
According to charge documents released by the court, police allege Mr Loosemore murdered the woman and “intentionally” set fire to the dwelling on August 5.
Mr Loosemore will next appear in court in January 2024.
